Mix Downtown: Where the In-Crowd Goes at Night
Chic, contemporary and upscale are all words that could adequately describe Sacramento's hottest nighttime gathering place, Mix Downtown. A luxurious rooftop patio and delightfully-decadent restaurant and lounge area, Mix is the club of choice for Sac's "in-crowd".
Mix's dramatic decor is nothing short of striking: a tasteful-yet-indulgent blend of deliberate lighting, rich textures and sensual colors that is akin to a sinful, creamy dessert for the eyes. The atmosphere is comfortable, yet upscale -- the perfect place to enjoy a glass of your favorite wine (they have 30 varieties and one of their amazing tapas (the sweet potato fries with chipotle creme fraiche are heavenly) with your closest friends.
Mix prides itself on its hand-crafted custom cocktails -- an art that draws visitors time and time again. Try the "Downtown Fizz," an amalgamation of Finlandia grapefruit vodka, fresh lemon juice, basil and sweet apple juice; the "Fire and Ice," a blend Bacardi Superior and Grand Melon, agave nectar, muddled cucumber, jalapeno and freshly-squeezed lime juice; or the "Potion X," a mixture of champagne and X-Rated passion fruit liquor.
Mix's tapas (small plates) are perfect for sharing with friends or indulging on your own. Frequenter favorites include the pan-seared Dayboat scallops with celery root puree and citrus vinaigrette; chicken breast skewers with basil pesto cream; Kobe slider burgers with onions and pickles; macaroni and cheese with herbed breadcrumbs and the roasted veggie flatbread with crumbled goat cheese.
If you're in the mood for something sweeter, try the candy cane brownie with hot chocolate sauce or the banana split with candied peanuts and brandied cherries. Is your mouth watering yet?

Proper dress and I.D. are required for entry. Mix is open Tuesday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until decline of business.
