Some of the biggest names in comedy got their starts at Sacramento's Laughs Unlimited. For nearly 30 years, this popular California comedy club has hosted such names as Harry Anderson, Bob Saget, Paul Reiser, Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. Laughs Unlimited is well-known for its ability to bolster quality no-namers to stardom.

Located at 1207 Front Street, the club is home to a restaurant and bar in addition to the comedy stage. Fine dining, intimate atmosphere and a self-described upscale ambiance makes Laughs Unlimited the perfect date-night, guys-night, girls-night, friends-night, or any other night destination.

A two-drink minimum is required for shows. A large variety of bottled and draft beers are available, as are dozens of wine varietals and hundreds of cocktails. An Ellis Island, which features rum, gin, vodka, tequila, sweet-and-sour mix, grenadine and triple sec, is the perfect way to kick off your evening at Laughs Unlimited. The River City Iced Tea, a mix of vodka, gin, rum, amaretto and Sprite is another excellent drink choice.

If you'll be dining at the facility, you're sure to be impressed by the simple and delicious sharable dishes. Try the Nacho Mama's Nachos-- smothered in refried beans, co-jack cheese, warm cheese sauce, olives, jalapenos, onion, cilantro and your choice of chicken, steak or pork carnitas. Other menu items include chicken or steak quesadillas, huge burritos and crunchy tacos. All items come with chips and spicy salsa.

If you've got a sweet tooth, Laughs Unlimited has that covered as well. A slice of creamy New York cheesecake with your choice of strawberry, caramel or chocolate toppings or a big, chewy chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream and hot fudge are sure to induce delight on the palate. After all, what pairs better than chocolate and laughter?
